What’s Happening “On Board”

Baker Food Co-op is a busy place with Staff and 87 Member-Owners working to keep the doors open.  Our Staff works diligently each day to answer thousands of questions and being the “go to” people who keep things running smoothly.  Freight crews unload supply trucks, carry products and stock shelves.  Department Heads organize their departments and order products to meet customer needs.  Cashiers are on the front lines of customer service as they keep current with the COPOS System.  Packagers reduce the big boxes into smaller packages.  Cleaning crews work diligently to keep the Co-op clean.  The list goes on and on…

And still…there is ALWAYS a need for more “worker bees”.

If you aren’t already, you should consider becoming a Working Member-Owner.  The Co-op is a fun place to contribute your skills to improve the Co-op and it is a great place to make lasting friends.

Some Co-op current and future events include:

  • A cooking class that will be taught at the Co-op.  Be watching for the details coming soon.
  • This year the Co-op celebrates its second anniversary at the Broadway location.  A BIG celebration is being planned to combine the anniversary and the Annual Tasting Fair.   If you would like to assist with planning and/or helping with this event, please call Carol or Vera at the Co-op (541-523-6281), talk with them when you’re shopping…or send an e-mail.
  • Because the Co-op is now located in the Downtown Baker City area, the Board decided to have the Co-op stay open Friday evening, December 2, until 7 p.m. for the Downtown First Friday Art Walk and the Holiday Open House.
  • If you attended the Festival of Trees you might have noticed that the Co-op was represented with a small, decorated tree and wreath.  The Board’s intent is to have the Co-op be actively involved in Baker City community activities.  This participation is also a good way to let others know about the great place called BAKER FOOD CO-OP!!
