Herbs, Spices and Bulk Teas

We now have powdered Chaga in stock in the bulk tea section. Chaga has been called the mushroom of immortality and the health claims are too numerous to list here. I will have a sheet of information in the spice department on Chaga.

We are also carrying Oatstraw in the bulk tea department. Oatstraw is a pleasant tasting and inexpensive herb that has been used for thousands of years. It is believed to lower cholesterol, increase stamina and relieve stress. It is a good source of calcium and makes a relaxing bed-time tea. Best as an infusion: one cup of boiling water to a teaspoon of herb (I use more to make it stronger): cover and let it steep for 15 minutes or more. I often make a saucepan full and let it sit (covered) overnight and strain it off in the morning and refrigerate. I mix it with other herb teas like rooibos. nettle, mint or anything else I might he using. It is considered generally safe for everyone.
