Celebrating Thirty-Four Years in Business!
In 1976 the Laras began a “Buying Club” to provide a local outlet for affordable healthy foods. Their idea caught on quickly and the Buying Club moved to a larger location in 1977 and again in 1978, when we became Greater Baker foods. As community awareness and desire grew for low cost, natural foods and organic products, Great Baker foods expanded to the store (975 sq. ft.) on 10th Street in 1989, which we occupied for the next 20 years.
Now, thirty-four years after establishing Greater Baker Foods, we have developed into the Baker Food Co-op with over 4000 member-owners occupying 4,800 square feet in Historic Downtown Baker City.
Help us celebrate thirty-four years of providing healthy, low cost, natural foods and organic products at our Annual Tasting Fair. What a great opportunity to sample foods and specialty products, especially for those seeking alternatives for gluten, wheat or dairy intolerances. Also, take advantage of promotional sale items while you’re there!
We look forward to seeing you, Thursday, March 8th from 6 to 8 pm.
