One of the most persistent and fairly common skin diseases is psoriasis. It is characterized by thick, silvery white scales surrounded by a red, inflamed border. Psoriasis can appear anywhere on the body but usually emerges on the elbows, knees, lower back and the scalp as well.
Psoriasis can appear at any age. Once it appears, a tendency for recurrence is always possible. The disease seems to lessen in the summer or goes into remission for no apparent reason.
There have been many suggestions as to the cause of psoriasis but it is generally believed to be due to an overactive immune system that triggers inflammation. Low blood levels of vitamin D seems to be a factor also.
For those who have psoriasis or know someone who does, there are two products worth exploring. They are not new but I’m not sure many know about them. They are non-prescription and can be found online.
Skin-Cap is a topical spray containing zinc pyrithione. It apparently removes the external symptoms of psoriasis. It is recommended by Dr. Julian Whitaker. To find out more, go to: www.skincap.com.
The other product, for internal use, is a thymic extract. This product is for the immune system. It may be listed as Thymic Protein A. To find out more, read the interesting interview with the man who created Thymic Protein A, Terry Beardsley. You can order it at: www.betterhealthinternational.com (click on “immune support”, scroll down to page 4 and click on “Thymic Protein A”); or, type in “Thymic Protein A” into your search engine.
